A good asset for the sleep toolkit!
The Glow Perfect Sleep Sensor is a good addition to new parents sleep toolkit if you are finding difficult to accurately determine the room temperature and which tog to use.
Tracking both temperature and humidity, it enabled us to use different tactics to create the perfect sleep environment for our son. Our baby monitor also tracks temperature but we always found it to be ‘slightly off’ as a result of the humidity, especially during summer. With the sleep sensor we were able to use it as a guide for which tog to use and think it’s helped support our son’s sleep. We also found it really helpful on a recent weekends away when you aren’t sure of the environment.
Although we have found we had to fine tune the tog recommendation and adjust which sleeping bag we use based on your house and the temperature. For example we know that as the weather gets cooler the temperature in our house drops quite significantly in the early hours so we put our son in a higher tog than recommended, especially if the sensor says low temperature but high humidity.
Whilst it’s a great tool, it is a bit tricky to set up as the interface isn’t overly intuitive and the instructions require proper reading to understand the different modes and setup features. Unfortunately the settings needed to be redone every time the main panel isn’t supported by power, so I’d recommend putting batteries in before disconnecting the power to move it.
I think it’s a useful tool if you are finding it difficult…
